MLM can be hard to sell on the Internet if you don’t know what you are doing. In fact, too many people aren’t doing it very successfully.
Many MLM marketers followed the advice of unscrupulous software and list vendors. They’ve sent out thousands of their unsolicited ads to long lists of harvested email addresses.
They have found to their dismay that such marketing tactics are known as “spam” to Internet veterans. And spam can get you flamed, mail bombed, and your ISP account shut down, just for starters. In fact, it can practically ruin your business
If you have an email account, your in-box is probably stuffed with all the latest chain letters and get-rich-quick schemes and scams. Unfortunately, this has happened so much that some people are scared of network marketing. And that makes it even harder to build a legitimate MLM business online.
But that’s just the beginning of the problem. The Internet is so big and so full of confusing information and conflicting “gurus” that it’s hard to know who to trust. It can take hundreds of hours of research just to get started.
On top of that, too many MLM marketers seem to be completely terrified of the Internet and don’t even have a web strategy. That means they probably don’t have an international presence either.
Since the Internet makes it possible for you to reach millions of eager new MLM prospects worldwide, that hurts you and limits your business. And even if they’re on the web, they probably don’t have a site that helps you build your business or gets your prospects very excited. Most MLM marketers company web sites are little more than the poor, self- serving, glitzy marketing brochures that fail miserably offline! The Internet is perfect for MLM. MLM is all about building networks, which is why we call it “network marketing.” And since the Internet is the largest network of them all, it stands to reason that this is the perfect place to build a downline.
The Internet is the cheapest and most efficient way to reach thousands of people in a short time. It’s the perfect place to find thousands of prospects worldwide and to train them once they join you. If you were in the business 10-15 years ago, you know that MLM Marketers who started using direct mail techniques to promote their MLM programs hit the jackpot. Everyone else was recruiting locally and using meetings and personal contacts to build their downline. Network marketers who started using direct mail sponsored hundreds of people very quickly.
Now everyone is using direct mail, and the competition is very fierce. It’s also a very high-cost medium when you factor in printing and postage. And the number of new MLM programs has increased exponentially. The Internet offers FAR more potential. You may be one of those people with the vision to recognize this potential. And yet, you may have already tried to promote your MLM on the internet, only to fail. If so, you’re not alone. For far too many people, the Internet seems to offer the promise of a large and thriving business, yet it never seems to work for them.
Have it at the back of your mind that internet is working very well for the few people that knows how to take advantage of its awesome power and unique benefits. The major reason most MLM marketers are not successful on the Internet is because they were never successful offline either!
MLM really is the best way most of us can build a decent income for ourselves. It really is the only way the average person can build a million dollar business without spending their life savings! There are plenty of people just like you who make thousands of dollars in MLM commission checks every single month. If you want to successfully market your MLM program online, you don’t just need comprehensive MLM training. You also need to know how to successfully market on the Internet. As an MLM Marketer, you need an auto-responder. Auto-responders allow you to keep in touch with people by email on a regular basis, even if you're out of the office, away on holiday, or just having a break from business.
They're not complicated to set up, but the best ones do carry a monthly charge, so you need to make sure that you really do need an auto-responder rather than any other form of contact. Remember that they are only necessary if you need to broadcast regular messages to your targeted audience.
When would you use an auto-responder in your business?
• You might already have a potential list of prospects. Perhaps you have an online shop and don't want your potential customer to just go away if they don't find what they want. Why not offer them a free report if they click on a link that will take them to your auto-responder? By capturing their email details, you can no only send the promised report, but you can send follow-up emails with special offers etc.
• If you want to create a list of potential prospects you will need to develop some form of marketing that will drive prospects to your lead capture / auto-responder page. This could be article marketing, pay-per-click, leaflet drop, business cards or any number of different forms of marketing. Give your lead capture page a memorable url name so that it is easy to remember if you tell people about it by word of mouth.
• If you want to create a series of mini-lessons on a particular subject.
• If you have an affiliate marketing business and want to create a stream of leads that you can offer your affiliate products to; or send your prospects to your blog etc.Auto-responders can be used for a variety of reasons, but you need to make sure that you choose a service that builds-in different services such as a choice of templates, audio/video recorder, automatic split testing (so that you can make the most of your headlines), bulk e-mail sender, exit surveys and more.
If you search the web it will be possible to find some free auto-responders, but it is generally better business practice to choose paid-for services as they will often produce less missed deliveries and will abide by the anti-spam guidelines.
So, whether you're a business, MLM marketers, an individual or an entrepreneur just starting out, auto-responders are a great tool for contacting your list. You create an email message once, add it to your auto-responder and forget about it. Whenever a new prospect joins your list they will automatically receive the first email in the sequence, then the second, and so on.
